For second place I observed the class again, during 3 days I went to Level 6 class given
by teacher Luisa Felix. I felt really good observing her class because she is
an excellent teacher and her classes always are very clear. I took notes during
my observation just for me to remember or to have different ideas in how to
give a class in an effective way. These observations are giving me the chance
to take the best part of the teacher and accommodate it according to my needs.
I had my
second teaching practice and it was not cool at all. I followed a lesson plan
that I did one day after my class because of the topic that supposed had to be
given was changed at last minute. It was an issue that did not give me the
chance to prepare well my material and check out my grammar and also the topic.
I did not follow the book and it was a problematic with my students because
they were expecting use the book. But in other hand during my presentation of
grammar and vocabulary the students presented a good behavior but also so much
doubts that I was not able to answer at all, but I could handle that situation even
though the bad attitude of some
students.
This second
practice was in pairs which did not allow me to have a direct interaction with
the students through activities. However during my part of the class I gave
feedback to my students in terms of pronunciation because in accuracy there was
not opportunity for students to produce.
To be honest I was not well prepared for my class there was a lack of
knowledge about the topic and it was because I did no focus on the book I just
took the instructions for the teacher and looked up for my own information that was a serious
mistake because students were very centered on the content of the book and when
a student’s ask me for an activity for the book I got stocked because I’ve not checked that
part and even me I have no idea about what was it about I leave students with
the doubt and then I check that and at the end of the class I tried to solve
that mistake from my part.
What I can
improve for my next practice is to revise my topic as so many times as I can
and get familiarize with all the content of the book, make a complete lesson
plan and ask for my topic to teach as soon as possible in order for me to have
time and make it better.
